The atelier at night — copper stills and glass vessels under a single low lamp
The atelier, Rue Sainte-Anne — 03:40

05 / 06 Origin

Made slowly, in the dark

The house has kept the same three rooms since 1908. No windows on the north side — light spoils an absolute long before the nose ever finds the fault.

Every composition is macerated for eighteen months, then left alone for six more. We have never been able to shorten this, and we have stopped trying.

Three hundred flacons leave the atelier each year. Each is filled by hand, numbered in graphite, and sent without ceremony.

A perfume finished in daylight will always smell like it is trying to please someone.

06 / 06 The Invitation

The doors open at nightfall

Three hundred flacons. No advertising, no counters, no second release. Leave an address and we will write once, when the next composition is ready.

We write rarely — twice a year at most, and never to sell you anything twice.
